Our Initiative - Taking a Step towards a Sustainable Future
At Tokeidai Bus, we consider contributing to a sustainable future as a crucial mission, and we actively engage with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of global objectives adopted by the United Nations in September 2015, with a target to be achieved by 2030.
Comprising of 17 goals and 169 targets, the SDGs are designed to be a collaborative effort involving not only governments but also individuals and organizations, addressing three aspects: social, economic, and environmental.
With the overarching principle of "leaving no one behind," the SDGs aim to eradicate all forms of poverty, combat inequality, and address climate change, while striving for a sustainable society. The SDGs outline specific targets to achieve these goals.
Introduction of Solar Power Generation System [Goal 7, 9, 11 & 13]
In August 2022, our company implemented the installation of a solar power generation system (PV) and a complete transition of our corporate vehicles to fully electric vehicles (EVs).
Furthermore, we are also operating a Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) system. This system enables us to utilize the electric power stored in EV batteries for office power supply. It involves storing the electricity generated by the solar power generation system (PV) in the EVs during the daytime and using it during the nighttime, minimizing the need to purchase electricity. Moreover, by restraining power consumption during peak demand periods, it contributes to energy peak shifting and can provide power to the community during power outages or emergencies.
The introduction of a solar power generation system reduces environmental impact, contributes to preventing global warming, and aligns with several of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, it corresponds to Goal 7 "Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all," Goal 9 "Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation," Goal 11 "Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable," and Goal 13 "Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts"
Road Traffic Safety (RTS) Initiatives [Goal 3]
As a dedicated charter bus operator, our company places the utmost importance on ensuring the safety of our passengers. We have been actively involved in Road Traffic Safety (RTS) initiatives.
In January 2023, our efforts were recognized when we received certification for ISO 39001 (Road Traffic Safety Management System), an international standard, from the Japan Quality Assurance Organization (JQA).
SDGs Goal 3, "Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages," consists of 13 targets, and Road Traffic Safety (RTS) aligns with Target 6, which aims to "halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents by 2020."
Through these initiatives, we aim to become a leading company in environmental protection and sustainability.
